Legal writing is a serious exercise of one’s faculties. “Reading makes a full man, conference a ready man, and writing an exact man.” This prescription by Sir Francis Bacon is squarely applicable in legal writing. One has to focus all attention, energy, memory, intelligence and wisdom while composing legal literature for publication. He should be as disciplined as a soldier, though entitled to enjoy a “Juristic licence” like a poet enjoying “Poetic licence.”
